Two Spirits: Non-Binary Genders in Native Communities

Untold Stories: Voices from the Salish Sea

Join BIMA for the final panel of our Indigenous Strength & Wellness: Untold Stories – Voices of the Salish Sea, with a look at historical and contemporary experiences.

This panel looks at historical and contemporary experiences of Two-Spirit identified persons, and how Two-Spirits provide a more nuanced and inclusive take than binary gender identity allows. The panel addresses the experience of such persons within their Native communities, and within non-Native communities.
