Take a moment to relax. Soon you’ll be here, hidden away in the Pacific NW rainforest on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride from Seattle. The Fern Cottage is ready for you to enjoy! Take a walk, hike the Fairy Dell trail down to the water to find amazing views of the Olympic mountains, curl up to watch a movie, or gaze out the many windows at the incredibly green, gorgeous island forest. There’s as much (or as little) to do as you’re ready for.

The space
The fern cottage was carefully planned to maximize relaxation with an eye towards design. A sweet, single floor space built in the 1920s, it is newly remodeled, clean and bright. Colorful accent walls in blues and greens complement a mid century modern aesthetic, creating a retro vibe you can sink into. Leave your cares behind you and step into the forest in style.

The cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, a TV room with a day-bed couch that can be folded flat to accommodate one more person, a living room with a gas fireplace, breakfast nook, and full kitchen. There is a washer and dryer available to guests in an attached utility space.

**As the cottage is in the forest, this is a no shoes space. We strongly request that you observe this practice when you enter the cottage.** Both an exterior show rack and an interior shoe mat have been provided. Carpet cleaning will be charged if necessary after your stay.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to check in as early as 2PM; check-out is at 12PM on the day of your departure.

The entire cottage is yours for your time with us! You’re very welcome to spend time in your front yard; we do ask that you not wander back into the private part of the property behind the cottage where the larger house sits.

Other things to note
A note about accessibility: The Fern cottage is not ADA accessible. There are stone paths leading to the main door and steps at both entrances. The main side entrance with the keypad has two steps; the front porch has four steps. There are no steps in the cottage, however there are several high thresholds.

The cottage includes a 4K Roku TV which you can use to access any streaming service you may be a member of; you will automatically be logged out of your accounts on your check-out day. Measured download speeds over WiFi at the cottage are 50-60Mbps.
