The space
The cottage is the Rolling Bay neighborhood of Bainbridge- close to Bay Hay & Feed, Via Rosa Italian and Jiffy Mart for quick essentials. It’s within walking distance of several beaches, and an 8 minute drive to the ferry and downtown Winslow!

Ours is the kitchen of your dreams – first rate tools and equipment, an up to date cookbook collection, complete with stunning views while you do the dishes. You’ll be able to do everything from heating up pizza and serving bagged salad to baking pies with our Kitchenaid mixer, producing guacamole in the Cuisinart food processor, roasting a turkey and pulling off a full holiday meal, or simmering chili in the Le Creuset Dutch oven.

We have cable service for all you sports fans, Netflix access under our guest login, and super fast Internet with a wireless printer for your WFH requirements.

You’ll sleep well here – it is SO quiet and when the moon is shimmering on Puget Sound, it is simply magical. And – we have fantastic mattresses, high thread count sheets, and are super careful, with barrier coverings on all the mattresses, with cozy high end mattress pads and pillow covers that we replace every time we change the sheets.

Of course we follow all the enhanced cleaning protocols and we have a professional cleaning service, where the employees are paid a living wage and receive benefits per their policies.

Dahlia Bluff Cottage is your private, beautiful peaceful refuge, and the entire place is your private escape. A huge deck with a massive, unobstructed view that includes Mt. Baker and the Seattle skyline, with hot tub and relaxing deck furniture is yours to enjoy.

Other things to note
This is a fully updated beach cottage – it’s almost 90 years old! It’s a gem of a place to spend time, and most people barely want to leave due to the incredible views, great living spaces, and our cozy, peaceful atmosphere.

A few things to know:

There are no actual closets (!) and we have provided creative solutions (hanging rack, small dresser, built in drawer under the king size bed, hooks etc.)

When it rains, it’s a challenge to get into the house and stay dry in the process, as there is no garage or carport or overhang on the house, so we recommend standard Pacific Northwest rain gear – raincoats with hoods!

Speaking of PNW weather – Bainbridge Island is a magical tree filled landscape, which means winter storms can cause power outages due to downed branches and trees. Because of this, we installed a whole house automatic propane powered generator. This generator, and the battery backup for our modem, are intended to keep things running. And one of us is almost always fairly close by, ready to help should any questions arise with the generator.

We have professional landscape maintenance and Valet Service from our hot tub company, and they may be on site, but never in the house, when guests are present.
