NYTimes Bestselling Author and Essayist Claire Dederer Discusses Her New Book, "Monsters: A Fan's Dilemma"

Presented by Eagle Harbor Book Company at Eagle Harbor Book Co.

Eagle Harbor Book Co. is excited to host Bainbridge Island resident and NYTimes best selling author, Claire Dederer, as she presents her new book, Monsters: A Fan's Dilemma.

Based on Claire's acclaimed Paris Review essay What Do We Do with the Art of Monstrous Men? Monsters explores the difficult questions that arise when monstrous men create beautiful art. Can we love the work of Hemingway, Polanski, Naipaul, Miles Davis, or Picasso? Should we? Does genius deserve special dispensation? Is male monstrosity the same as female monstrosity? Does art have a mandate to depict the darker elements of the psyche? What happens if the artist stares too long into the abyss?

This event promises an evening of stimulating and engaging discussion with America's most insightful author.  This event will fill quickly so RSVP now to ensure your place!
