Learn about the history of Seattle’s Pike Place Market and the plans underway to connect it to the new Waterfront Park.
What's going on with Seattle these days?
Library U, a program of the Bainbridge Public Library, presents a free four-part discussion series beginning October 2 entitled Across the Pond: Seattle Past, Present, and in the Works.
We start with a look back at the history of the Pike Place Market presented by Alice Shorett, co-author, with Murray Morgan, of Pike Place Market: People, Politics, and Produce (1982) and Soul of the City: The Pike Place Public Market (2018). Then the Friends of Waterfront Seattle will bring us up to date on the new Waterfront Park project, which will include an Overlook Walk connecting the Market to the waterfront and Seattle's urban core.
