Learn about the Perseid meteor shower, visible late evenings from now through August 18.
The Perseid meteor shower extends from July 25 to August 18, as Earth passes through the debris left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle. The shower peaks on the night of August 12-13, unfortunately this year during a full moon, but meteors can be seen now through the 18th. BPAA President Frank Petrie describes this and other major meteor showers occurring throughout the year, and how to watch them.
