Teen Night @ BARN

Teen Night @ BARN

at Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN)

Teens, come on down to BARN on this Friday the 13th for our lucky final Teen Night of the school year!  As always, it will be an evening of free pizza, friends, music, and creativity. You'll get to choose from activities like cooking, woodworking, sewing, jewelry-making, metal-working, and more. You can also just hang out and chill, play games, or work on your own projects!

No registration is required, but teens will be asked to sign in and provide a parent phone number and email address upon arrival.  All participants must be vaccinated for covid.

Here are some of the activities we are offering this month:

Stamped Cuff Bracelets:  Choose what words or designs you'd like to stamp into a copper band and shape it to size for a custom bracelet!

Bandsaw box:  Use tools in the Woodworking Studio to make a wooden box to take home.

Needle Felting:  Use a special needle and colorful wool to make felted beads or another creation from your imagination!

Plasma cutting - Watch sparks fly as you cut a piece of steel with a jet of hot plasma, making a shape of your choice.

Glass Suncatcher: Learn how to cut glass with a strip cutter and nippers, and make a hanging starburst suncatcher.

Queer Quilting with BIMA:  Express yourself through fiber art and decorate a fabric patch using embroidery, markers, ribbon, and more!  Leave your patch with BIMA staff to contribute to a giant collaborative blanket that will hang in the museum gallery in June during the Common Threads exhibition, or save it to sew onto a jacket or backpack.

Fresh Spring Rolls:  Choose your favorite colorful ingredients to make your own tasty no-cook spring rolls.

Laser-cut Rubber Stamps:  Make a custom rubber stamp on one of the laser cutters in BARN's Electronic & Technical Arts Studios.

Play with Clay: Create critters or other tiny objects with colorful Sculpey clay! You will learn the basics of making mini sculptures and have lots of free time to make whatever your heart desires.

Drop in activity: Rolled Paper Beads - make a handful of creative beads with paper, scissors, and glue!
