A haunting journey into the hearts and minds of forgotten heroes of WWII – the Japanese-American 100th Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.
Determined to prove their loyalty, and despite being confined to inland concentration camps, Japanese Americans successfully petitioned the government in 1943 to serve in the armed forces, becoming the 100th Infantry Battalion, and went on to be one of the most decorated units of its size in American military history.
Be sure to also join us on March 23rd for a presentation by Seattle Nisei Veterans Committee Commander, USAF Lt. Col (ret) Mike Yaguchi to hear more about the history and legacy of the 100th Battalion, the 442nd RCT, and the importance of their post-WWII Gold Medal recognition.
