Japanese Decorative Paper & Bookbinding Workshop (Online)

at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

During the first week of this workshop, you’ll create sekkazome of your own design, which you’ll use the following week to build four traditional Japanese stab bindings.

This workshop will take place in two sessions from 10am-1pm on Sundays, July 13 & 20.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Yuka Petz’s work straddles multiple disciplines, including book arts, graphic design, and 3-D paper works. She received an MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from the University of the Arts and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has taught adult and youth workshops throughout Seattle, New Orleans, and in Japan. Yuka recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest from New Orleans, where she co-founded SIFT and The Artist Book Collection at Paper Machine. Her work has been exhibited internationally and across the US, and her artist’s books are in the special collections of several public & university libraries.
