Whether you like simple, casual fare or high-end cafes and gastronomically adventurous tasting menus, Bainbridge Island restaurants have something to offer for everyone. Though it’s an easy trip across the ferry from Seattle, we recommend coming for more than just one day so you can thorough sample all of the great restaurants, coffee shops, wineries, and bars that call this charming island home. We couldn’t possibly list all of the great restaurants on Bainbridge Island in one blog post–there are many, and all are worth mentioning in their own right!  However, we have put together a list of 10 of the most popular restaurants to try for the fall of 2019.

  1. Ba Sa, one of the newest restaurants on Bainbridge Island, is serving up some of the best Vietnamese comfort food we’ve had. Their sumptuous offerings highlight the use of local ingredients, including in dishes like curry-glazed chicken wings, caramelized garlic shrimp, and Ca Kho To (braised catfish). The restaurant seats around 50 guests and has an outdoor patio and an open view of the kitchen.
  2. Another relatively new, and very welcome restaurant to the BI foodie scene is Proper Fish, serving up classic British Fish and Chips, and a variety of other delicious menu items. Rightfully so, this hotspot has earned the moniker “Seattle’s Very Best Fish & Chips.” It is, after all, owned by a British expat.
  3. 10 Best Restaurants on Bainbridge Island for 2019The Bainbridge Island Fish Company is a fantastic place for market-fresh seafood. It’s located outside of the Winslow core, in the popular Lynwood Center on the south end of the Island.
  4. Brendan McGill’s acclaimed Hitchcock Restaurant has long been known as one of Seattle’s best restaurants, though it’s not really in Seattle.  It’s located in the heart of Winslow, just a short walk from the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal. If you’re willing, we recommend letting the chef take you on a journey with his exquisite tasting menu, featuring a variety of fresh and seasonal ingredients.
  5. Another Brendan McGill venture, Bruciato, has proven a hip and trendy place to grab some delicious pizza and cocktails.
  6. Enjoy simple and exquisitely prepared French/Pacific Northwest classics at chef Greg Atkinson’s Restaurant Marché, located just off Winslow Way on Madrone Lane. For a real treat, watch the chefs create their masterpieces while dining at the chefs counter.
  7. Some of the best sushi in the Pacific Northwest can be found at Subi. It’s a treat to sit at the sushi counter, where you’re often given small bites to taste. Or, dine in classic Japanese style in one of their Tatami rooms.
  8. Agate Restaurant, formerly known as the Agate Pass Cafe, has moved to its downtown location on Bainbridge Island and is continuously thrilling locals with their delicious dishes. It’s located just behind the Bainbridge Brewing Alehouse, near the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
  9. The Beach House Bar at Pleasant Beach Village is delightful places to go, especially on a clear evening overlooking the Bremerton ferry traveling through Rich Passage. As an added bonus, you can order from the bar’s menu downstairs at the Earth and Vine Wine Bar or The Marketplace.
  10. Head to the impeccably restored and intimate farmhouse at HeyDay Farm for a truly fresh and seasonal dinner.  They offer community dinners every Thursday and Friday, and, thankfully, reservations are now accepted.
