Local Distillery Tastings and Tours on Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Island Organic Distillers, which is located in the Coppertop Business Park next to Bainbridge Brewing’s and Fletcher Bay Winery’s original locations, was opened in 2009. Each of their spirits, which have won multiple awards over the years, is distilled on-site in their hands-on small-batch production process.  Every detail in their distilling process is thoughtful, sustainable, and environmentally neutral, right down to the grains they choose.  They work with organic farms around Washington to grow their grain stocks, often times using grain varieties that haven’t been used since the introduction of modern genetically modified varietals. Bainbridge Organic Distillers was the first distillery in the state of Washington to produce certified Bainbridge Island DistilleryUSDA organic spirits, and today they remain the only distillery that produces 100% of their organic spirits from scratch at their Bainbridge Island location.

Bainbridge Island Organic Distillers makes multiple varieties of whisky, including the World’s Best Wheat Whisky, a Vodka that was also named the World’s Best Vodka, and a gold-medal winning Doug Fir Gin. The distillery is currently open Monday – Saturday from 11 – 6 for tours and tastings of their delicious products. You’ll likely end up taking a bottle or two home with you. You should also pick up a bottle (or two) or their Whisky Barrel Aged Organic Maple Syrup or their Spirit-filled chocolates.  Both are to die for, and make excellent Christmas gifts for the spirit enthusiast in your life.
