Danna was born in the small town of Greenville Mississippi in 1953 where her Dad was serving in the Air Force. The family soon moved to San Angelo, Texas where Danna spent most of her childhood doing the things creatively minded children will do. Many dollhouses out of cardboard boxes and scraps of fabric from Mother’s sewing basket. Sidewalk art in chalk. Dresses made for Penny, her wonderful and patient dog. In 2019, the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour accepted Danna and Larry’s home gardens as a Summer Tour Studio location where they hosted other artists, and will again in 2020. Danna serves as secretary for the Board of the BI Studio Tour.
Danna has worked with Winslow Art Center since meeting the owner, Martha, in 2018. Danna’s was honored to have a solo show at the Winslow Art Center Gallery in April 2020. The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art also requested Danna to submit paintings for a show in concert with the BI Studio Tour which will run through September 2020.
Things seemed to be on a roll art-wise and on July 1, 2020, Danna jumped out of retirement and opened her second art gallery. Serendipity played a big part again in this new adventure when she walked into a suddenly available space and the new Tartaglia Fine Art came to life. The gallery features Danna’s diverse paintings, photography and jewelry, plus a few favorite artists who join in the new gallery.
Danna is a Juried member of Oil Painters of America, OPA and Women Painters of Washington, WPW; and an associate member of American Women Artists, AWA;
