Bainbridge Performing Arts promotes appreciation of and participation in the performing arts to build, educate and inspire our vibrant, creative community. What began in 1956 as the only community organization to combine theatre, dance and music on Bainbridge Island thrives still today. A handful of volunteers with deep visionary roots, an eagerness for hard work, a readiness to perform anywhere, and financial allegiance planted a seed that flourished. Now, seamlessly woven into the fabric of Island life, BPA has emerged as the quintessential heart of Bainbridge Island 's artistic community, a gathering place for the energy, talent, and spirit of artists, writers, directors, musicians, dancers, students, volunteers, and impassioned audience members. Patrons from Bainbridge Island, Kitsap County, the Olympic Peninsula, Seattle, and beyond enjoy events at BPA.

Sometimes referred to as The Best Damn Theatre Company in the World, Island Theatre is located on Bainbridge Island, in Washington’s Puget Sound. We go for the provocative stuff, the plays not being done elsewhere. Not just dangerous, but challenging plays— intellectual, lyrical, electrifying, edifying, entertaining, questioning, amazing, heart wrenching, hysterical work not often seen. We bring literature to life! Since 1995, Island Theatre has been delivering masterpieces of the theatrical canon to audiences in venues as diverse as the Bainbridge Public Library, the Bloedel Reserve and your own living room. Our mission is to provide quality theatre, geared toward mature audiences, onstage and in less conventional venues through plays that challenge the performers artistically while both entertaining and intellectually engaging audiences.

    Lesser Known Players
    Theatre
The Lesser-Known Players aim to provide our community with exposure to new, rare, unusual, and/or out-of-mainstream theatrical works. Through these lesser-known works we seek to foster community engagement, dialogue, and understanding of history, politics, and the different ways of living, thinking, believing and behaving in society, and to provide more opportunities for inclusion in the performing arts to the traditionally underrepresented. We often perform at Rolling Bay Hall on Bainbridge Island.

The Lesser-Known Players (LKP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theater organization completely run by volunteers.  The Lesser-Known Players specialize in bringing lesser-known works of literary and artistic merit to a wider audience, through the performance of new, unusual and/or lesser known works, forms and expressions by established and emerging artists; and in fostering engagement within our community through ongoing performances and educational offerings.
