  • Bainbridge Island Modern Quilt Guild
    Bainbridge Island Modern Quilt Guild

    The Bainbridge Island Modern Quilt Guild's (BIMQG) mission is to develop and encourage the art of modern quilting by supporting new quilters and other fiber artists interested in non-traditional and improvisational quilts. In addition, BIMQG offers educational opportunities through workshops and by sharing information at meetings and through its newsletter. The Guild also sponsors community an annual quilt-making event, an annual quilt show, and quilt displays in public places. Regular meetings are held the second Sunday of each month. Guests are welcome. Check BIMQG’s Facebook page for meeting locations and sign up for the newsletter at bainbridgeislandmodernquiltguild.com. Since 2012, BIMQG has presented the annual Bainbridge QuiltFestival, a free community event that displays quilts of all styles along at Winslow Green. Anyone can enter a quilt for this show by registering at bainbridgequiltfestival.com . Registration is open June 30 to August 31 annually. The Festival is the second Saturday of September. Festival-goers enjoy over 150 quilts displayed outdoors. Everyone has the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and to vote for their favorite quilt. One lucky person goes home with an original BIMQG-made raffle quilt. Three talented quilters will win prizes based on the viewers’ voting. Each November BIMQG hosts a community sewing event to make giving quilts for area groups.
  • Bainbridge Island Studio Tour

    The Studio Tour is a twice-annual art show, held in local artist’s studios and gardens where a variety of juried artists are present. It is a self-guided tour, with no admission fee. The Winter Tour is always held on the first weekend in December, and the Summer Tour is always held on the second weekend in August. Each artist must pass a stringent jury process in order to participate and sell their work at the Tour. So you are sure to find high-quality, original, hand-crafted artwork at every Studio Tour. Visit the artists and talk to them about their work, and buy directly from the artist.

    Bainbridge Pride was founded on Bainbridge Island, WA by a group of volunteers on June 2015. The organization became a non-profit 501(c)(3) on January 31, 2019. We serve LGBTQIA islanders and surrounding members to promote equality for all.

    Friends of the Farms is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation in Bainbridge Island, Washington founded in 2001 with the mission to preserve and enhance local agriculture, increase farmland, and support the farming community. We believe where and how food is grown affects our health, the health of our land and water, our atmosphere, the ability of people to make a living wage, and for our community to thrive. We envision a community-based food system on Bainbridge Island where: As much food as possible is grown, produced, processed, sold, and consumed locally Nutritious, fresh, local food is accessible and affordable to everyone Farms and related businesses are economically profitable for this and the next generation Food is grown and produced using environmentally beneficial agriculture and clean aquaculture Money stays on the island all across the supply and distribution chain What and how we eat is integrated in our culture We work to create system-level change for long-term impact through: Permanent protection of the existing and potential agricultural land base Affordable housing and farmable land for the agricultural community Public and private investment in infrastructure and commercial services Committed and empowered local government, food-related businesses, and institutions Informed food citizens through a multi-disciplinary approach to food studies for children and adults Connecting human health with a farm-driven diet to grow a healthy population Experimentation, innovation, and education to attract the best and brightest of the next generation of farmers and food producers

    Sometimes referred to as The Best Damn Theatre Company in the World, Island Theatre is located on Bainbridge Island, in Washington’s Puget Sound. We go for the provocative stuff, the plays not being done elsewhere. Not just dangerous, but challenging plays— intellectual, lyrical, electrifying, edifying, entertaining, questioning, amazing, heart wrenching, hysterical work not often seen. We bring literature to life! Since 1995, Island Theatre has been delivering masterpieces of the theatrical canon to audiences in venues as diverse as the Bainbridge Public Library, the Bloedel Reserve and your own living room. Our mission is to provide quality theatre, geared toward mature audiences, onstage and in less conventional venues through plays that challenge the performers artistically while both entertaining and intellectually engaging audiences.

    The Ravine Art Fair is a special event held on Mother's Day weekend on Bainbridge Island at The Ravine, 444 Winslow Way. The Ravine includes Bainbridge Apothecary and Tea, as well as Island Life Artisan Gifts. The Ravine Art Fair hosts booths for a diverse group of juried, local artists and businesses with original items of art and gifts that are locally made, hand-crafted, and demonstrate high-quality work. The Ravine Art Fair is a free event for the public.
