Relax in our private and peaceful guest studio in a quiet neighborhood, just a 15-min drive from the ferry. Tucked-away yet convenient to everything, our home is close to lovely neighborhood trails & Pritchard Park beach. Enjoy exploring all the island has to offer – cycling, kayaking, walking trails, beaches, museums, wineries, restaurants, & more – then return to the comfort of your home-away-from home. We love our bucolic setting and look forward to sharing all that it has to offer with you!
The space
Our 550 sq ft studio easily accommodates four adults. A vaulted ceiling, plenty of natural light, and comfortable furnishings create a casual and cozy space. Heavy curtains separate a sleeping alcove from the great room; a queen bed with plush memory foam mattress furnishes the bedroom area and a new queen sleeper sofa, also with a memory foam mattress, creates another sleeping area. Quality linens, pillows, towels, and bathrobes lend to our guest’s comfort.
Alternatively, two guests may sleep in the loft which is accessed by a ladder and furnished with two very comfortable 4” thick, high-density foam mats, sleeping bags, and pillows. Or the loft is just a fun place to hang out, read, or view the TV from on-high. We also have a pack-n-play available for our littlest guests and can install a baby gate at the top of the studio’s entry stairs for safety.
If you must work while visiting, there is ample counter space and a supportive bar stool in the kitchen area, just right for setting up a laptop. Our high-speed WiFi is capable of HD streaming and has ample bandwidth for video conferencing.
Guest access
The studio is above a detached garage, near our residence but with a separate, private entrance that guests may access at any time. There is plenty of street-side parking on the quiet residential road in front of our home. We respect our guest’s privacy yet want to help make the most of your trip and are available by text/call to answer your questions at any time.
Other things to note
The studio has a kitchenette with everything needed to heat prepared meals from the market or cook simple dishes from scratch. There is a single-bowl kitchen sink, 5 cu ft mini-fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, single hot plate and pots & pans, blender, and counter-top Breville convection oven that toasts, reheats, bakes, roasts, broils, and accommodates a 13” pizza. Dishes, drinkware, coffee, and tea are provided.
The studio also has high speed WiFi, a 50” HDTV with sound bar, and Roku so guests can log in to their favorite providers (e.g., Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV, etc.) to watch content of their choice. (Easy instructions for accessing content through Roku provided).
We’ve placed a few games and travel books about our region on the bookshelf as well as local magazines and brochures and we have taken extra care in developing a guidebook highlighting our favorite neighborhood walks, local attractions, and eateries in hopes you’ll discover the Bainbridge Island we’ve come to know and love.
Overlooking our park-like 1-acre property, the studio has a view to a large back lawn, flower and vegetable gardens, and a small grove of fir trees. Guests are welcome to enjoy a beverage or a meal at the picnic table in the grove while listening to birdsong and watching the squirrels who scamper about the trees. We often hear the gentle clucking of our neighbors’ chickens and if you’re out in the early morning or at dusk you may see deer and an occasional coyote traversing the back of the property. We hope you’ll come and stay with us!
